The university improved its recycling efforts this year as new, custom-built recycling bins were placed in buildings across the campus. The large, wooden bins, built by PSU’s carpentry department, can collect bottles, cans, cardboard and paper.
The bins are currently located in Heckert Wells, Horace Mann, the Kansas Technology Center and Russ Hall, but program coordinator Tonya Pentola said every building will eventually have at least one.
“The goal is to have one of those large bins on every floor in every building, where it’s possible,” she said.
